Senior Technical Writer Job at ZipRecruiter in Washington

MacroSys is seeking a Senior Technical Writer with demonstrated professional/technical writing and editing skills, preferably in a transportation or technology-related field.

Responsibilities:

1. Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
2. Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
3. Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
4. Analyze information required for the development or update of policies, procedures, and other documentation.
5. Create original drafts of new communication products.
6. Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in communications or related field and 6-10 years of relevant experience
2. Fluency in technical and common office software
3. Keen attention to detail
4. Strong written and oral communication skills
5. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
6. Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
7. Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
8. Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
9. Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy

Candidates should have a portfolio of articles, speeches and/or other technical writing samples that demonstrate his or her prior professional writing experience.
