The role will work hybrid (no less than three days per week on-site) at one of our following offices: San Antonio, TX, Chicago, IL and New York City.
Argo is currently seeking an AVP, Marketing and Producer Management responsible for supporting growth within its business units and key strategic partners. This position will play a key role in the development of the units' marketing and distribution strategies - designing, planning, executing and measuring success. This position is a client facing role and will interact regularly with Argo distribution partners, actively managing the relationships including new appointments, progress reporting, performance management and terminations.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a sales orientation including solid marketing and communications planning, project management skills, strong customer service and problem-solving abilities, relationship building and a focus on data-based decision making, metrics and reporting.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the role are:
- Work closely with business unit leadership to develop strategic plans and execute marketing initiatives to enhance relationships with distribution partners.
- Proactively capture client feedback and competitive intelligence to continuously refine the business units' value proposition and opportunities for growth.
- Support cultivation of a sales culture throughout business unit.
- Manages the new appointment process, drives new producer onboarding, ongoing progress reporting, performance management and personally handling terminations, in support of the assigned business units.
- Collaborate with business unit and marketing team on campaign development and management; educational, entertainment, and incentive events; advertising; collateral development; digital and social media strategy, etc., acting in the role of strategist and project manager.
- Partner with business unit leaders on development and execution of major conference strategies, including scheduling, producer packets, events, marketing communications, presentations, and follow up.
- Track, measure and drive marketing ROI.
- Responsible for developing and implementing plans for client engagement, sales enablement, profitability insights, key distribution partner strategies that support business unit growth.
- Interacts with distribution partners and actively manages the relationships.
- Proactively drives the relationship and initiatives with assigned distribution partners.
- Reviews the producer data report monthly, identifying trends, opportunities, and concerns; initiates proactive actions in support of the broader Argo Group and distribution partners.
- Evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitor data and actively partners with the assigned underwriting departments in advancing a sales oriented and client focused approach to producer management.
- Actively seeks ways to incentivize distribution partners to expand their relationships with Argo.
Core qualifications and requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor's (required) or Master's Degree (preferred) in Marketing, Business or related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years insurance experience required.
- Minimum 7 years in marketing/communications role required.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skill set, including ability to analyze data and gain insights and provide direction.
- Ability to think strategically and "out-of-the-box".
- Working within a matrixed environment - Ability to interface and work collaboratively and communicating with colleagues and management at various levels within an organization.
Travel: Willingness to travel up to ~25%
