Sinclair’s Writers Hub is looking for an AM News Associate Producer. This position will report between the hours of 3 AM and 11:30 AM, with adjustments as necessary. This position is onsite in Hunt Valley, MD. The Associate Producer’s job duties will entail: Pitching stories for distribution across Sinclair’s network of television affiliates Researching, writing, producing, and publishing TV news exports (VOs and VOSOTs) on deadline Cutting down Sinclair-owned packages and web scripts into VOs and VOSOTs for air Assisting with script peer reviews as needed Non-linear video editing and publishing VOs and VOSOTs to script, including placement of burned courtesies, flashes to avoid jump cuts between multiple speakers, and minor graphics Creating Axis graphics that visually support details of written scripts Assisting with recording live events that come across our satellite and LiveU feeds through in-house software Issue the AM coverage note in a rotation, as needed Assist with dayside video editing needs The ideal candidate will have: Professional experience in a TV newsroom/content center Experience with one of iNEWS/ENPS/DALET or similar Experience writing scripts in conversational voice for TV Non-linear video editing experience Familiarity with AVID and AXIS Enthusiasm for the AM shift Willingness to learn these systems if you don’t already possess these skills The ability to work in a team environment About the job: The AM Associate Producer will be joining a team that produces several exports Monday through Friday. The morning team is vital to setting up producers across Sinclair to succeed by delivering quality, fact-checked exports on deadline. A typical day consists of producing stories about the biggest developments overnight, the biggest things happening later that day, and that strive to provide context and clarity that go beyond a surface level. The hourly compensation range for this role is $21.06 to $23.40.  Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
