Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing video production for the district wide Marketing department. Produces and provides promotional, educational and event-based videos to internal and external audiences, and manages the process for quality and efficiency. Assists in producing high-quality content/video work in a variety of styles and across a variety of platforms, working collaboratively with internal teams to communicate and execute on related strategies that meet the goals of the marketing department and the college.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered where applicable.
Minimum Experience/Training:
  • Four years of video experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Weekly - 15%: Coordinates and executes shoots on site/on location including audio, camera operation and talent directions. Additionally handles assignments requiring special lighting, multiple locations, creativity, special audio needs, custom graphics and animation.
  • Other - 15%: Creates and develops video content for an array of student/faculty/staff/college stories, for distribution across a variety of platforms. Records and edits video and sound projects, including shooting, organizing video set ups, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, titling, adding music/voice-over/sound effects, media management and archiving project media.
  • Other - 15%: Plans and performs video post-production tasks, including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, adding photographs, motion pictures, motion graphics, animation, audio and music, and final editing using Final Cut Pro, Avid or Adobe Premiere software; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses/encodes video projects for output; makes video products available in a variety of formats; observes brand standards, ensures consistency and relevancy to production; monitors technical quality of end product; and coordinates internal and external duplication services as required.
  • Other - 5%: Creates material used for, but not limited to shooting videos, and conducting field interviews; edit material for television broadcast, social media, web applications or schedule guests as needed.
  • Other - 5%: Collaborates with the Associate Vice President of Marketing, Coordinator, Marketing and Project Coordinator to schedule video workflow and execute video strategies.
  • Other - 5%: Provides necessary data points for the Marketing/Public Relations department to provide activity reports to key stakeholders as needed, including view count metrics and related analytics.
  • Other - 5%: Scouts shoot locations and assesses issues in filming and provides solutions or alternatives.
  • Other - 5%: Generates ideas for college video projects for the Department of Marketing and Communications.
  • Other - 5%: Assists with video production projects and photography shoots, working with outside vendors as needed.
  • Other - 5%: Provides video and event support tasks as needed.
  • Other - 5%: Assists on video shoots with external production teams, helps manage scheduling and logistics.
  • Other - 5%: Manages video library and assets. Maintains the college video gallery, YouTube channel and related platforms.
  • Other - 2.5%: Maintains the college video productions archives.
  • Other - 2.5%: Stays informed about the current state of and advances training to advance video production technology and video distribution.
  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to produce high quality, engaging, consistent, compelling content in video format for websites, blog, social media and other communication channels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assist with extracting reports from media monitoring platforms.
  • Extensive experience with digital video equipment, with strength in video editing software.
  • Proficiency with standard filming setups, lighting & audio standards.
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with internal/external partners.
  • Storytelling ability - must be able to create engaging/informative stories from a variety of source material and subject matter.
  • Demonstrated management of delivering assets on schedule.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a creative environment; open to creative critiques and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, to ensure that deadlines are met and that projects achieve high-quality cohesion across mediums.
  • Effectively manage deadlines; multitask on various projects simultaneously and communicate project lists and statuses to project coordinator/stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and manage expectations on projects.
