We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of grant writing, federal and state funding sources, and the healthcare landscape, particularly in community health settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from federal, state, and private funding sources that align with the organization's mission and programs.
- Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Collaborate with program directors and other stakeholders to gather relevant data, narratives, and budgets for grant applications.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking grant proposals, submissions, and outcomes.
- Develop and manage relationships with funding organizations and maintain ongoing communication to ensure successful partnerships.
- Monitor grant progress and compliance, preparing reports and updates for funders as required.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports related to grant proposals and expenditures.
- Responsible for grant kick-off meetings and quarterly check-ins to monitor progress.
- Stay informed about industry trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in grant writing and management.
- Provide training and support to staff on grant writing best practices and funding strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in grant writing or related field, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
- Strong understanding of federal and state funding processes, especially for health care services.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and compelling narratives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
- Experience with federally qualified health centers or community health organizations.
- Familiarity with health-related funding sources, including HRSA and state health departments.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management in grant contexts.
