Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000, based on experience

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead and oversee the design of innovative civic and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional design expertise, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior staff while transforming client visions into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. This leadership role involves collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and clients to deliver outstanding interior design solutions that enhance public and commercial spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership: Lead the design process for civic and commercial projects, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Space Planning: Develop functional and optimized space layouts that meet client requirements and code regulations.
- Material Selection: Specify finishes, furnishings, lighting, and materials that align with the project's vision, budget, and sustainability goals.
- Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, present innovative design concepts, and incorporate feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure design intent is accurately translated into construction documents.
- Documentation: Produce detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, and material boards using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- Sustainability Focus: Integrate sustainable design principles and materials to meet LEED certification or other sustainability benchmarks.
- Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, review construction quality, and address design-related challenges.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on civic and commercial projects.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software (e.g., Lumion, Enscape).
- Skills:
- Strong design, space planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent visual presentation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, and sustainability standards (LEED accreditation preferred).
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Certifications: NCIDQ certification or actively pursuing certification is preferred.
- Other: Willingness to travel locally for site visits and client meetings as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
