PEI Group
PEI Group is hiring: Senior Reporter in New York
PEI Group, New York, NY, United States, 10292
About The Role
We at PEI Group are looking for a Senior Reporter to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing team based in New York.
Writing for New Private Markets, the successful candidate will cover the dynamic markets of private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure with a focus on sustainability, ESG and impact investment. Specifically, the senior reporter will write exclusive, insightful and actionable stories that are clearly differentiated from mainstream sustainability-focused and investment-focused publications.
The Senior Reporter will produce stories ranging in length from single-paragraph newsletter entries to richly sourced deep-dive investigations; all with an eye on delivering proprietary information, insight and context. Commentary writing and exclusive news also form an important part of the senior reporter's role.
Other responsibilities will include writing articles that profile firms and people, identify and analyze trends in fundraising and other activities, and other key community developments including key personnel moves.
At all times, the goal is to seek out the impact of those developments rather than merely recounting the news, and to think deeply about the type of information and angle that our audience will value.
This role will involve gaining access to and publishing sensitive and privileged information. The reporter will be expected to understand and adhere to journalistic ethics and consult with editors on any potential conflicts.
Editorial strategy
While not expected to set editorial direction for New Private Markets, the senior reporter will work closely with the editor to assist them in doing so, by providing market insight and feedback, and by pitching creative ideas.
