What you will be doing:
- Design, administer, and analyze qualitative and quantitative studies to evaluate potential solutions for digital products and experiences
- Identify and define research opportunities within multidisciplinary and cross-geographical teams of researchers, designers, engineers, and product owners
- Lead the preparation and presentation of research findings to stakeholders that use data to champion the best possible user experience
- Lead and contribute to the development of modern test environments and data-capturing tools the ensure good testing outcomes
- Set clear quantitative and qualitative metric targets as well as feature experience requirements to be implemented by software engineers
- Define and promote standard research practices, ways of working, and strategies at both the local and the global level
- Drive the adoption of UX Research as a critical component of product design and delivery
- Provide mentorship and guidance to UX Research team members
- Supply insights related to current research publications, data, and market trends
- Analyze and summarize large-scale data gathered from empirical data collection via desktop simulation, AR/VR, and/or on-road research, with an emphasis on in-vehicle advanced driver assistance systems
- Lead and collaborate with a research team to define and execute research priorities
- Lead and contribute to the development of research briefs and/or publications
- Other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- A graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience within User Experience Research, Behavioral Research, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Experience using a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods to deliver complex, multi-faceted and iterative UX Research
- Strong analytic skills, and proficiency with large-scale data management and statistical software tools such as SQL, Matlab, R, SAS, Tableau, or similar.
- Experience with a testing simulator and/or eye-tracking software
- Experience working with internal design, engineering, product, and research teams
- Demonstrated success in leading UX Research and contributing to product development from concept to successful implementation
- Ability to self-organize and comfortably context switch between multiple projects, with limited direction and oversight
- Excellent collaboration, observational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills alongside the desire and ability to see things from multiple perspectives
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships while advocating for meaningful improvements to our customer experiences
- Familiarity with UX and human-centered design practices
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies that deliver into a software development lifecycle
