Dress for Success San Francisco/San Jose (“DFSSJ”) is the local affiliate to Dress for Success Worldwide, an international nonprofit organization currently serving approximately 140 cities and 25 countries. Since 2006, we have helped more than 17,000 women in the Bay Area.
Who we’re looking for:
You are a seasoned marketing communications professional who has experience working with nonprofits. You have strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to write for a range of audiences. You are a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, and know how to influence within an organization. You thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities and campaigns. You are passionate about Dress for Success’s mission and empowering women to achieve financial independence.
As our Sr Manager, Marketing Communications, you will play a vital role in shaping and amplifying the Dress for Success brand and its mission. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact, supporting our broader go-to-market (GTM) strategy while also executing our day-to-day communications plan. You will be responsible for creating and ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all channels, helping to tell our story in a way that resonates with our audience and drives engagement.
Key responsibilities* include:
Consistent & Elevated Brand:
Act as a brand steward, ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels and that all messaging reflects the values, mission, and voice of Dress for Success. Support GTM Strategy:
Develop comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our brand presence and visibility with clients, donors, volunteers and other key audiences and support engagement in key programs. This will include working closely with the Executive Director on fundraising strategy and appeals. Help align communications efforts with organizational goals to maximize impact. Content Creation & Copywriting:
Craft compelling copy & graphic design content for various platforms, including website content, email campaigns, social media, blogs, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials, to attract and engage our target audiences. Ensure consistency in messaging across all channels. Social Media Management:
Manage our social media presence, developing content that engages our audience, promotes our mission, and highlights our impact. Monitor and report on social media performance, adjusting strategies as needed. Email Marketing:
Develop, execute and analyze email marketing campaigns to engage, nurture, and promote our services to clients, leads, donors, volunteers, and the broader community. Ensure email communications are aligned with our brand voice and strategic objectives. Event Support:
Assist with promotional efforts, messaging, and communication strategies to ensure successful outcomes. Public & Media Relations:
Develop and carry out PR and media strategy, including developing and driving media calendar, media relations, and tracking press coverage. Analytics and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing communication strategies, making data-driven adjustments to optimize tactics and enhance impact and reach. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related fields Non-profit experience is a strong plus Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail Proficiency in marketing automation and analytics tools such as Pardot, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Google Analytics, etc Proficiency with Canva or other graphic design tools Expertise leveraging social media platforms and digital marketing strategies to drive engagement Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Passion for non-profit work, empowering women, and staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, but also independently when needed Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels Spanish language proficiency is a plus Denotes "essential functions" in accordance with the guidelines of The Americans with Disabilities Act. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $85,000-$95,000 annually DOE. This role is an exempt position. We offer a generous benefits package: 20+ Paid Holidays, including one week off in July and one week off in December.
