Position Summary The Business Leadership team builds strong client relationships that drive positive outcomes for their business. The team does this by immersing itself in the business, elevating strategic opportunities for growth, and developing media recommendations that keep clients at the forefront of the industry. The Associate Media Director will proactively offer industry updates, performance insights and opportunities to team leadership and clients. They will be responsible for overseeing flawless execution of media campaigns and developing the skill and knowledge base of those more junior while supervising, advising, and providing counsel to direct report(s). Responsibilities Portfolio & Growth Manage day-to-day operations of the client media plan and budget details, including flowchart, budget trackers, ensuring client signs accurate, timely media authorizations prior to buys. Demonstrates understanding of Client's business/category. Build and strengthen junior to mid-level client relationships as a business partner and thought leader to their organizations Coordinate collaboration, schedule status meetings and business updates with Mediahub's Partnership Investments, Audience Science, Campaign Insights, Insights + Action and Radical + Disruptive, in addition to extended Mediabrands and Kinesso specialty teams. Support Group Director in maintenance of monthly MBIS investment and forecast tracking with Partner Investments and Client Finance. Oversee supervisor/manager, who is the go-to resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies, including compliance with vendor set-up, Prisma entry for channels not managed by PI, Local MB or Kinesso. Partner with Local Investments, Kinesso and Partnership Investments on development of partner list, RFP details and evaluation prior to client recommendations.
Media Strategy Support 1-3 accounts, pending scale and complexity of business and scope of deliverables. Build and present media plan recommendations, recaps and thought leadership. Partner with analytics team to implement measurement objectives and taxonomy. Oversee flawless execution of media campaigns. This includes leading campaign implementation and execution, QA, monitoring/optimizing, and insightful reporting. Create and provide Media Authorizations to clients for approval; once approved, notify channels. To align with Group Media Director to approve/seek client approval for any budget/mix changes not clarified in the authorization (MA may include optimization guidelines and any over/under budget flexibility) Utilize IGNITE planning strategy process (Implement business intelligence, generate multiple audience segments, Navigate the investment, Tap into culture, Evolve with speed and precision) as part of client teams, to guarantee robust analysis of business/media role. Develop workback schedules and content to deliver on media brief deliverables, check-ins, presentations, launch, QA, and reporting. Oversee junior team development of competitive spending reports and insights and connect to business intelligence for role of spend on share, etc. Responsible for running all planning tools (i.e. Kismet, R/F, etc), as well as partnering with Analytics to run any models, to determine the optimal media mix (across all channels) and plan delivery. Partner with Insights + Action and Audience Sciences to develop audiences, profiles, and strategies to implement and measure. When I+A is not in scope, create audience profiles using Scout and implement within Kismet to inform channel mix Identify great work and support team with writing, presenting, and providing data and assets to create case studies that win awards, win business and celebrate the work (internally and externally) Contribute ideas that contribute to creative media tactics.
People & Culture Participate in a diverse, inclusive, creative culture. Collaborate with peer group to share work and inspire junior team members about creative-thinking, accountability, and thought-leadership. Responsible for developing the skill and knowledge base of those more junior as well as supervise, advise, and counsel direct report(s). Facilitate regular 1:1s with direct reports to ensure information is appropriately understood and actioned (where appropriate), feedback can be elevated (if needed), and additional context/education/etc. can be provided. Elevate client work within the agency and partner with Growth and Comms teams to submit for awards and recognition. Actively participate in agency DEIB trainings and events, ERGs, ensure recruiting/interviewing/management is unbiased, inclusive.
Required Skills & Experience 5-7 years' experience required Able to build strong client relationships in order to develop a trusting partnership and facilitate mutual understanding process/priorities/needs. Proven expertise in at least 3 channels, while developing additional acumen of cross-channel media marketplace and planning essentials (delivery levels, flighting, etc.), including Video/Audio Broadcast/Streaming, Direct and Addressable Digital, Social Media, Retail Media (if applicable), Print, OOH, etc. Must be able to occasionally travel to supported markets or client events.
Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Have participated in delivering effective work, and may have won an award, pitched new business and/or driven organic growth. Able to demonstrate the ability to successfully multi-task while preserving high attention to detail, manage your time and show superb organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and ability to think on your feet. Strong mathematical abilities Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of DCM, Prisma, comScore, MRI.
