With over 26 million listeners each month and a rapidly growing portfolio of programs and partners, you’ll be leading development and execution of creative, measurable and impactful campaigns to increase our digital, social, podcast and broadcast audiences and elevate our brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Marketing Manager is a strong marketing generalist, always looking for ways to introduce our brands, digital properties, audio streams, podcasts, radio shows, newsroom series and live events to new audiences. The Manager is a collaborative team player, able to work across the organization with the Audience Engagement, Data, Social and Brand teams, as well as with the senior marketing leaders to optimize campaigns and continually analyze metrics to ensure the department hits key audience goals.
- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute multi-layered marketing plans that reach targeted audiences for New York Public Radio content, as well as trade audiences.
- Lead marketing for all newsroom series and podcasts, with regular meetings, audience strategy, marketing plans, partnership cultivation, analysis, tracking and wrap reports.
- Marketing lead for The Greene Space and events, including running the e-mail marketing and paid social/advertising, monitoring tickets sales to achieve revenue goals.
- Manage social, retargeting and programmatic ad platforms for campaigns and implement robust SEO/SEM strategy using Google Ad Words
- Write effective and creative copy for advertising, social media and marketing platforms and projects.
- Use analytics tools to measure effectiveness of campaigns and work with Data team to identify trends and make recommendations to the Content teams
- Maintain “always on” strategies for platforms like e-mail, paid social and audio promotion for ongoing audience-building
- Oversee design and production of marketing materials for Membership, Development and Sales
- Produce presentations and marketing materials, including video and animation projects.
- Run “owned” campaigns on our websites
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years experience in marketing, advertising and audience-building
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with common web and social platforms and technologies
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, with particular strength in short-form creative advertising and social media copy
- A love for audio and NYPR content
- Experience with successful partnership marketing
- Familiarity with production for print, web, audio and video preferred
- Basic competency in Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design preferred
- A creative enthusiasm for experimenting with marketing, paid media and promotional tactics.
- A collaborative and team spirit; a willingness to “jump into” a wide range of both practical and creative efforts to implement a marketing idea and “make it happen.”
