Author and deliver high-quality conceptual, procedural, and API documentation. Develop, negotiate, and drive documentation plans in alignment with product strategy. Gather and analyze customer engagement data to improve content performance. Work with other writers to improve how we write. Identify and drive opportunities to improve process efficiency.

A Day in the Life An AWS IoT programmer writer works on a team with other writers, and contributes to the priorities of the AWS IoT service. You’ll focus heavily on the doc lifecycle, creating documentation content plans, writing documentation, working within AWS services to gain domain expertise, and addressing customer feedback. In addition, you will spend time working with designers and product managers on early product and feature designs to improve the customer experience.

About the Team The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Documentation team writes and provides support for a diverse technical audience, including developers, DevOps professionals, IT professionals, and technical program managers. We innovate, research, learn, and experiment on behalf of our customers. We collaborate with product managers to understand our customers’ needs and partner with software developers to learn how AWS services function, influencing product design and the customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with XML, markdown, or HTML. Familiarity with using and following a style guide. Experience designing, planning, and delivering content that meets the needs of a technical audience. Experience working directly with teams of software engineers.
