DESIGN TECH Job at FBI Buildings Inc in Remington

The Design Technician will provide technical support to the Project Sales Consultants and Livestock Specialists in creating customized cost effective building designs, including customer focused presentations and preparing accurate estimated construction costs, and develop complete permit-ready Construction Drawings using computer design tools (CAD).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Completing thorough construction drawings ready for Material Take Off team.
• Participate in meetings, briefing the construction team on the scope of the project, providing highlights on any special details or areas of concern, and working to prepare completeness for Material Take Off team.
• Ensure relationships are built with the construction team to ensure their confidence
• Understand and master engineering terms, concepts and programs.
• Provide support to all teams in need of Auto-Cad drawings.
• Challenge the status quo by offering alternative solutions on pre-sale and post-sale projects that may enhance the building aesthetics, customer satisfaction, or constructability.
• Must manage several projects simultaneously to meet project deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management or Engineering
• Experience in construction is a plus.
• Experience in design software and Microsoft programs

Must be a quick learner, problem solver, and be able to communicate effectively to gain the trust of construction personnel. Must be clean, neat, personable, and an effective team player with a heart to do what it takes to Do Right, On Time, With Excellence!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: A sedentary position requiring manual dexterity to operate machines and handle documents; visual acuity to type, read and draft.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP : This position reports directly to the Design Leader.
