Days of work are Monday-Friday with hours of 8:00am-4:30pm. However, some events will require evening and weekend work. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The media and public relations specialist is responsible for creating and capturing opportunities to tell JRMC's legendary story with photos, story writing, press releases, public speaking, events, video production and guiding all social and other digital media. This role captains copywriting, media relations, media buying and is responsible for developing, growing, maintaining and utilizing customer relationship (database) tools to communicate with existing and potential JRMC loyalists. The media and public relations specialist is responsible for ensuring the JRMC brand and standard style guide, voice and focus are enforced in all material. JOB FUNCTIONS Customer Acquisition- 30% Implement and oversee customer relationship manager (CRM) build and execute funnel opportunities to grow database utilize email, text and emerging communication as a key acquisition tool support patient journey mapping select, maintain and distribute promotional collateral Community Engagement - 25% lead Community Engagement team brand ambassadors program lead the planning, scheduling and content of speaking engagements oversee JRMC sponsorship opportunities from community to corporate organize and host JRMC events provide facility tours act in the role, as needed, as public information officer provide recruiting support to both Human Resources and the Recruiting Manager participate in the Foundation Development Committee Multi-Media Storytelling - 25% captain JRMC copywriting, including technical material maintain JRMC history documents maintain accuracy and timeliness of JRMC boilerplate, elevator message and community impact support speech writing as requested write press releases harvest, collect and tell patient stories convert stories across other mediums within role and collaborate with other team members to realize full use of these cherished opportunities collect and organize JRMC photography both at events and for inventory purposes create in-house video as able and work with vendors to develop professional grade commercials script and oversee production of radio, including supporting tools like a jingle collaborate with team on all proofing and reviews Digital & Social Media - 20% establish and maintain strategy that directly aligns with organizational goals determine digital buys, paid boosts, ad word bids, remarketing and other for-purchase aspects of digital marketing lead interaction with online contacts organize and host online events collect and share metrics and use data to adjust plans as needed integrate social and digital interactions with CRM tool Knowledge, skills and experience preferred: excellent interpersonal and networking skills crisis management experience excellent written and oral communication skills, proficient in AP style both creative and technical writing prowess, including television and radio copy strong ability to develop messages in a way that engages audience interest ability to closely follow internal style guide to produce accurate material skilled photographer and photo editor ability to capture photos with print composition in mind customer relationship management experience experience with marketing communications and marketing plans experience collecting metrics and demonstrating ROI extensive video, radio and other multi-media production experience desire to constantly improve the work and image of JRMC proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite ability to work independently as well as in a team environment flexibility deadline-oriented appropriate sense of urgency handles rejection enjoys change autographs work with excellence Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: PREPARATION AND TRAINING - Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related area WORK EXPERIENCE - Work requires one to three years of experience in marketing, communications, event planning, public speaking, fundraising or similar field which builds and maintains relationships. Must have excellent planning, organization, communication, and follow-up skills. Strong attention to detail is a must. Experience with writing, website updates, design programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite are required ATTENDANCE - Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at JRMC. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees are also expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule.
