Job Description
THE ROLE:
This candidate will be responsible for executing visual design of digital media signage, multi-spread print collateral, sharable digital/social media content, tradeshow booths and the corporate website.
IGEL's Graphic Designer will play a significant role in maintaining the companys cohesive and vibrant brand while creating customized graphics that communicate complex topics related to our technology. The designer will comply with brand standards while pushing the brand forward visually and stylistically. You are an expert in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and have passion for Adobe Creative Suite.Challenges excite you and youre resourceful and proactive about solving them.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Researches, plans, develops, and implements graphic design and technical illustration for a variety of deliverables, including printed and digital documentation.
- Participates in the planning, layout, design, web-design and preparation of artwork for inclusion in technical manuals, reports, product brochures, displays and presentations.
- Determines the composition of technical illustrations, and selects views, angles, perspectives and projections necessary for presentation.
- Selects techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects and recommends methods and medium to convey desired effect and distribution.
- Provides illustration/design support for internal and customer documentation.
- Creative design for marketing deliverables including event invitations.
- Collaborates with technical writers, engineers, marketing specialists and others to understand illustration/design requirements; works with various vendors, contractors, internal units, and outside sources.
- Evaluates document design, format and file delivery, and suggests innovative approaches to problem solving.
- Serves as graphic advisor in brainstorming sessions and on teams both within and outside the department.
- Improves and drives implementation of tools and processes to streamline illustration processes.
- Leads all graphic design projects and maintains knowledge of current industry tools.
- Ensures that graphic design projects are completed on time within budget and to users requirements.
- Provides strategic direction at the project level.
- Not required but bonus points: proficiency in non-linear video editing and video graphics
REQUIREMENTS:
- Only applicants who submit one of the following items will be considered for this position:
- A URL to an online portfolio of work
- PDF (no larger than 5MB) of work samples. Samples should include at least one multipage layout.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS is required.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in graphic design.
- Has strong knowledge of widely used illustration and design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, Illustrator and InDesign
