Vice President of Communication and Marketing The VP of Communications and Marketing leads the organization’s efforts to promote the work and brand of Martha O’Bryan with a twofold objective: engage middle Tennessee individuals, companies, and institutional stakeholders in the mission and build on our national brand which involves system change, model building, and policy improvements. Working closely with the Executive team, particularly the CEO, COO, and CDO, this position leads the creative efforts of MOBC across all program areas with a particular focus on the relational fundraising marketing tools for Middle Tennessee campaigns, communications, and creative projects of the TAEM initiative and marketing of Martha O’Bryan’s national impact in regarding our systems change efforts. As the organization’s lead creative position, the VP will be central to our efforts in 2025 regarding brand, impressions, and message.

Job Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support brand positioning and strategy to elevate the visibility and awareness of all entities associated with The Martha O’Bryan Center. Lead, create, and execute innovative, creative concepts for marketing projects, events, campaigns, and donor communications approved by the CEO and Executive Team. Manage workflow, priorities, and multiple projects and campaigns at once. Lead and facilitate all creative projects across the organization, working with internal staff and outside creative services. Directly oversee cross-functional creative graphic design, photography, and video, including those directly associated with the TAEM project (Tennessee Alliance for Economic Development). Produce and direct visual content for print, digital, and other mediums lead the creative process, and oversee the work of the team performing quality control proofing and, revising designs until acceptable results are obtained. Works with the CDO and the Development team, to create promotional materials and annual fund solicitations, including other communications for promotion on social media and electronic news outlets. Provides logistical support for creative projects across the organization. Stay current with the latest industry, style, and creative trends. Other duties may be assigned. Special Demands: The special demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities including the following: Physical Demands Position may involve bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 10 pounds; standing and sitting, intermittently each day; working in all weather conditions. Travel Requirement Applicable for events, conferences, and within the seven-county context of our work, as assigned by the CEO. Must have a valid driver’s license Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education and Experience
: Five or more years of related experience. Two years or more leading teams. Demonstrate a commitment to the nonprofit sector. The above qualifications express the minimum standards of education and/or experience for this position. Knowledge and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills; and excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external constituents. Strong organizational skills. Strong time management skills; uses time effectively; consistently meets deadlines. Computer literate including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing software, email, and the internet.
