Vice President of Business Development and Marketing

The executive in this role will work to drive sales, expand markets, and ensure the company achieves its financial objectives. The VP will work closely with the executive team and cross-functional departments to build a robust pipeline, cultivate key partnerships, and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends to shape the future of the company, playing a critical role in our strategic growth and helping with client acquisition and retention.

Responsibilities: Direct the development and execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes that will increase revenue, expand markets, and achieve financial targets. Thoroughly review and understand proposals and pitch presentations. Develop and maintain a wide network of industry contacts to stay informed on market dynamics, emerging trends, and future opportunities. Manage the sales cycle from inquisition to acquisition and create systems for nurturing in all stages. Plan and systematically target, engage, and convert high-quality prospects. Oversee day-to-day marketing activities and partner on initiatives to develop future strategies. Importing, sorting, and exporting lead lists to the Sales team. Conduct in-depth research and analysis on competitors, customer needs, and the business environment to inform the development of new products, services, pricing strategies, and business models. Network with potential clients and represent the company at industry events. Develop written content for proposals, collateral, RFI & RFPs, presentations, etc. Identify and evaluate new markets, business partners, channels, and customers to expand the company’s footprint. Track and solicit updates on opportunities and clients, reporting regularly. Manage, implement, and refine internal processes to ensure the highest possible close rates. Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in Sales or Business Development. Previous experience in the trade show/event industry is a plus. Understanding of PR, advertising, and digital marketing landscape. Proven ability to lead, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and influence key stakeholders. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple workstreams and priorities. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Advertising, Finance, or another related field. Key Skills: Strong ability to analyze industry trends and competitive intelligence to develop and implement effective strategies. A creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions to meet client and market demands. Positive communicator, with the ability to collaborate, build, and maintain relationships with internal teams, external partners, clients, and diverse stakeholders, both inside and outside the organization. Highly organized, with the ability to manage time and resources efficiently while overseeing multiple priorities and projects.
