The Product team uses creativity, insights, and operational excellence to steer our product vision across Snap Inc. This team of designers, scientists, and product managers work in a highly collaborative environment to build the products and experiences that bring our community together in new and special ways.

We're looking for a Visual Designer to join our Product Design team at Snap!

What you’ll do:

Be responsible for defining crucial elements of our Design Systems, such as illustration and motion design, while also owning the visual design of all in-product assets across all Snapchat products.

Work closely with product designers, design systems, engineering, and other artists to build world-class experiences for Snapchatters.

Inspire the team and the company with their vision for the future of the product experience

Help lead visual strategy and define principles and systems that connect innovative product design with our engaging and playful brand.

Architect large, ambitious, and often ambiguous design projects that will set a precedent for the rest of the company.

Evolve Snapchat's visual identity across touchpoints like in-app notifications, settings pages, and onboarding flows.

Partner with Product Design to create highly polished user experiences.

Develop and maintain design systems that enhance the visual identity of Snapchat, ensuring scalability and consistency across products.

Create compelling 3D and 2D visual designs that support product UI, marketing initiatives, and broader branding goals.

Design motion and interaction elements that enhance user experience, ensuring animations are efficient and guide user focus.

Build strong relationships with leadership, product, engineering, and design teams to align on strategic goals.

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Expertise in creating and scaling design systems, with a strong focus on component libraries and design guidelines.

Proven ability to develop and document brand guidelines and strategies that enhance brand recognition.

Proficiency with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, focusing on design systems and component management.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in motion and interaction design, with a focus on using motion to communicate impact and meaning in user interactions.

Strong attention to detail and a keen sense of aesthetics in line with brand guidelines.

Minimum qualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

5+ years of design experience

Preferred qualifications:

A portfolio showcasing design work, with examples of contributions to design systems and brand guidelines.

Experience leading design projects from concept to launch, with a focus on strategic alignment with brand goals.

Demonstrated experience in developing cohesive visual systems and brand strategies.

Experience developing cohesive visual systems

Experience designing and developing concept art

Experience developing, documenting and implementing a visual language

Brand/agency design experience, offering a strategic perspective on visual storytelling and brand communication.

Someone always adopting emerging technologies to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the visual design team.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
