Mechanical Designer

Our client a recognized leader providing stainless steel solutions to multiple industries - pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage, chemical, electronic processing, and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate 3D models and required 2D drawings. Create and validate bill of materials used for manufacturing. Review project specifications, scope of work, design parameters and P&ID drawings to capture all design requirements. Consult with engineers and other personnel to resolve and troubleshoot design issues timely. Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to adapt to different audiences as needed. Assist with peer reviews of engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with industry standards. Analyze various design requirements from concept to finished design. Understand and ensure compliance with pressure vessel related design codes such as ASME Section VIII and ASME BPE. Able to work with minimal supervision and capable of shelf-checking work produced for completeness and accuracy. Provide design time estimates as needed to estimators. Support other departments, sales, purchasing, production and quality as required. Assist with selecting and verifying components to be purchased as required. Specify and/or recommend modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Understand design fundamentals and fabrication processes associated with pressure vessels. Perform drawing reviews with customers when required. Assist with creation of re-assembly plans when required. Requirements:
Preferred degree in mechanical Drafting/Design or equivalent experience. Proficient at 3D modeling using parametric CAD software, Autodesk Inventor a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel a plus. Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Div.1 a plus. Mechanical Designer will be required to work from our location in Lewis Run, PA.
