Description

Amazon's Appstore works across the Devices & Services ecosystem partnering with product and technical teams throughout the product development cycle. Functions include envisioning future customer experiences, product design and design-systems for delivery and CX quality assurance.

As a Sr. UX Designer, you will work closely with other designers, user researchers, customers, product managers, software developers and executive leadership to drive designs from vision to execution and will also be a key part of Amazon Appstore products. Amazon Appstore, we work across many devices, services and platforms including FireTV, Fire Tablet, Microsoft desktop, Mobile and Retail and also Developer Experiences.

We are looking for an experienced Sr. UX Designer to work across the Devices portfolio in partnership with business, engineering, and design teams to plan for the future experiences that will have the greatest impact on customers' lives. You will bring diverse and large-scale leadership experience to the team and help mentor, develop and grow designers at all levels of the organization, and across Amazon. You will also bring a passion for learning and innovation, balanced with business needs and customer expectations. You will also help align design planning across teams for coherent customer driven strategy, and maximize the impact of a hybrid centralized/decentralized design organization.

Basic Qualifications

Have an available online portfolio

8+ years of design experience in interaction design (software, mobile, web, other media), with an emphasis on conceptual, visual, interaction design and strategic thinking.

Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and all levels of an organization.

Demonstrated results leading digital content, e-commerce & service design

Demonstrated experience synthesizing large, strategic & challenging business, technology and customers' needs into actionable plans with demonstrated impact.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Demonstrated results leading integrated physical and digital experience design (ID & UX)

Passion for learning and innovation, balanced with business needs and customer expectations.

Demonstrated mentorship and success growing and developing people and/or teams.

Fluency in best practices for multi-platform research, information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.

Post-graduate education in design, business or related field or experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
