We're looking for a highly skilled individual who is both a talented camera shooter and an experienced video editor to join our in-house production team! You will work in a collaborative environment to produce video content, from eye-catching commercials to engaging social media videos. This is a hybrid role, with both office-based work at the H/L Oakland office and remote work.

For SF Bay Area / CA based: H/L offers a projected salary range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $125,000 per year. The actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's qualifications, budget availability, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions. These factors will determine the final compensation, which may vary within the stated range.

What you'll do:
- Work with the creative team and producer to plan and execute shots based on project objectives, and ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision
- Provide creative input throughout the production and postproduction processes
- Review storyboards, make animatics, and prep video assets for on-set use
- Operate camera during shoots for a variety of content types
- Set up and troubleshoot camera and lighting equipment on location
- Ingest footage from shoots, and ensure proper storage and organization of all footage
- Maintain high standards for video quality, and work efficiently within project timelines
- Edit video footage to create compelling stories for a variety of projects, including commercials and video content
- Review and implement team feedback, making revisions as needed
- Perform basic color correction, audio mixing, and sound design to ensure a high-quality final product for social/online content
- Handle prep for color correction and audio record/mix on broadcast spots
- Demonstrate an ability to stay current with changing technology
About you:
- You have 2+ years of related work experience with an in-house agency production company or production/editorial house
- You have proven experience operating camera equipment
- You are knowledgeable in framing, lighting, and shot composition
- You are creative and detail oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- You have demonstrated abilities to quickly and effectively troubleshoot technical issues with equipment or software and otherwise handle unforeseen production challenges
- You are adaptable and able to switch between roles, whether it's shooting on location or editing in postproduction
- You are proficient in video editing software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premier Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as PluralEyes
- You are familiar with various camera postproduction workflows, including RED, Arri, Canon, and Sony
- You are familiar with color grading vocabulary and technical prep of footage
- You are experienced in meeting a variety of technical specifications for delivery of broadcast and social formats
- You can remain calm in stressful situations while managing deadlines and a multitude of details
- You love to collaborate and promote teamwork
