Sports/General Assignment Reporter Wanted
The Rocket Miner, a bi-weekly newspaper covering a large county in Rock 
Springs, Wyoming, is seeking a creative and energetic sports/general news 
assignment reporter to join our team immediately.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and oral communication 
skills, attention to detail and organization and the ability to manage multiple 
projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate should also possess a strong 
willingness to work in a team-focused environment and have the ability to build 
relationships with sources inside the local sports community.
The successful applicant’s main duties will include covering local sporting events 
throughout the county and writing feature stories. Covering other local news as 
assigned is also expected but is not the primary focus of this position. Posting on 
our website and social media is expected. Photography experience is highly 
valued but not required; we can train as needed.
This is not a remote position.
