Summary
The Senior Creative Strategist is a critical thinker and imaginative problem solver who bridges the gap between research and compelling creative execution by zeroing in on razor sharp, imaginative, and differentiating consumer insights. They are curious, insightful, and hungry to do great work that is being talked about. This person will be integral to elevating the creative profile of the agency, working closely with the creative team.This is an opportunity to work with a team focused on growing the agency and creating nationally recognized work.
While this position is all about cross-team collaboration, you often act independently or only with a slight oversight from the Head of Strategy. We are looking for a smart and insightful storyteller, who is great at presenting their thinking and helping sell compelling work. Someone who is in sync with cultural trends and full of ideas on how to leverage them in the work. We will ask for a proven record of doing so. As a senior team member, you will lead strategic development of campaigns, mentor junior strategists as we grow the department, and collaborate closely with creative and account teams to deliver award-winning work.
Local candidates are preferred because we believe in the magic that happens when we get together. But if you are truly an outstanding candidate we may consider a remote position.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop insightful and innovative strategies and strong creative briefs that inspire creative teams and resonate with target audiences across channels. Contribute to fostering a culture of curiosity, courage and collaboration in the agency.
Client Partnership: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, presenting ideas confidently and building strong relationships by adding unique perspectives.
Research & Insights: Often in partnership with the Department Head and outside partners, conduct and synthesize primary and secondary research to uncover meaningful consumer insights and cultural trends.
Creative Collaboration: Partner with creative teams to craft compelling briefs that ignite fresh and bold ideas and ensure strategic alignment.
Campaign Development: Partner with the Head of Strategic Planning to develop strong creative briefs and jumping off points for excellent campaign development.
Mentorship: Lead, inspire, and develop junior team members as the agency grows.
Requirements:Experience: Min 5-7 years of experience in a strategic role at an advertising agency, with a proven track record of driving successful campaigns.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Psychology, or a related field. A graduate degree is preferred.
Strategic Acumen: Exceptional ability to translate data and to identify human insights that are at the heart of great strategies and inspiring creative briefs. We will ask for past examples.
Communication Skills: Outstanding presentation, writing, and storytelling skills that inspire. We will definitely ask for examples.
Collaboration: Must thrive in fast moving, cross-functional teams - collaboration with the creative, account, media, teams will happen every day. Also we hope you are fun to work with!
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, and consumer behavior. Experience in non-traditional research techniques that help us get underneath the data.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solver with a growth mindset and a passion for tackling complex challenges.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities currently.
Position/Hours Worked
This is a full-time position. Given the nature of the agency world, we hope that by now you have developed a strong work ethic and growth mindset. Occasional work outside standard business hours may be expected.

Salary Range: $125,000 - 140,000 Annual DOE
