Expected salary range of $123,300 to $137,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Constellation, the nation's largest producer of carbon-free energy, is a leading voice on many complex clean energy policies at the national, state and local level and needs a media relations manager to help build support and momentum for company priorities. This media relations position is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies and public relations campaigns to advance key business and energy policy priorities for Constellation. The person in this role will be responsible for media engagement on complex clean energy and climate policies at the state and federal level. This person will work with supervisors on issues management, strategy, messaging and execution and will be responsible for maintaining and expanding press lists, pitching and building relationships with existing and new media figures to help amplify Constellation's positions. The media relations manager will also need to be a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing briefing materials, helping them to prepare for and staffing media engagements, and offering communications counsel on a range of issues. The person in this role will also serve as a key corporate spokesperson with top-tier national media outlets, trade publications and with beat reporters. The media relations manager will need to independently manage projects and work closely with other business units, including state and federal policy/government affairs, advocacy, investor relations, the generation and commercial businesses, marketing and the brand and reputation teams. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and execute media strategy around business and policy priorities for Constellation. Build, maintain and update comprehensive messaging frameworks for important, complex climate and nuclear energy-related issues. Maintain and expand press lists and reporter relationships. Serve as an on-the-record spokesperson in the media, develop and run approvals on company statements and messaging. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 8 years of experience in political/policy communications, advocacy, journalism, public relations or related experience. Excellent writing and editing skills. Media engagement and on-the-record experience. Strong interpersonal communication and management skills. Demonstrated project management experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience gained from a political campaign, advocacy group, Congressional office or similar organization. Experience and knowledge of energy policy and politics. Existing relationships with reporters, editors and/or media outlets. Experience working with NGO's and other third-party advocacy organizations. Demonstrated project management experience.
