Print Designer Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Print Designer to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing impactful cover pages, engaging introductory sections, visually compelling photo sections, and well-crafted Oral History and Directory Publications. You will collaborate closely with various Partners and project managers, to capture and translate their vision into high-quality print designs. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Print Designer Essential Duties: Determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy and select style and size of type. Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites. Use computer software to generate new images. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed. Maintain archive of images, photos, or previous work products. Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients or supervisors and making necessary changes. Prepare charts, graphs, illustrations, and other design elements to be printed. Research new software or design concepts. Mark up, paste and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for the printer Uses artwork provided by clients to create Directory Covers and Introductory sections Combines constituent submitted photos, captions, and narratives to create photo sections Edits constituent submitted photos to ensure each one is printable Approve proofs from vendors are ready for print Integrate client and Copy Edit changes to Cover, Intro, and Photo Sections Run scripts to create layouts from XML Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment and able to meet deadlines Work with vendors: - Assign work and verify accuracy when returned

- Photo Editing

- Photo section cleanup

- Oral History Cleanup

Requirements

This position is remote however, the employee must live permanently in AL, AR, FL, GA, KS, MI, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, and VA. Minimum High School Degree or equivalent. Minimum education preferred for the position:

AA with BA/BS preferred Minimum experience preferred for the position:

1-3 years of experience in Graphic Design Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred for the position: Knowledge in: Adobe Systems Adobe InDesign Knowledge in: Adobe Systems Adobe Photoshop Knowledge in: Adobe Systems Illustrator Knowledge in: Microsoft Excel Preferred: XML experience Must complete a background check within 48 hours of receiving an offer. Must complete a reference check (3 professional references needed).
