Overview
SkyBridge Luxury & Associates is partnering with a premier convention hotel in San Diego to source an exceptional
Director of Marketing . This role is critical to driving brand visibility, increasing group and transient bookings, and positioning the property as a top choice for business travelers, conventions, and leisure guests. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with a data-driven approach to elevate the hotel’s marketing presence in the highly competitive San Diego market.
Position Summary The
Director of Marketing
will lead all marketing initiatives, including branding, advertising, digital strategy, and partnerships, to achieve revenue and occupancy goals. Collaborating with sales, revenue management, and operations teams, this role will develop and implement innovative marketing strategies that attract large-scale conventions, corporate groups, and individual travelers.
Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy and Branding Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the hotel’s revenue goals and brand identity. Enhance brand awareness through targeted campaigns, strategic partnerships, and creative promotions. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Digital Marketing and Advertising Oversee digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content creation. Manage the hotel’s website to ensure an engaging user experience and optimized performance for conversions. Design and execute advertising campaigns across multiple platforms to maximize ROI.
Group and Convention Marketing Collaborate with the sales team to create targeted campaigns for group, corporate, and convention business. Develop collateral and promotional materials to support large-scale events and attract high-profile clients. Work with event organizers to co-market conferences and enhance the guest experience.
Revenue and Performance Analysis Analyze marketing performance metrics and provide regular reports to hotel leadership. Adjust strategies based on campaign outcomes, booking trends, and revenue goals. Collaborate with the revenue management team to align marketing strategies with pricing and inventory strategies.
Team Leadership and Collaboration Lead the marketing team, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities. Foster strong cross-departmental collaboration to ensure consistency in messaging and branding. Partner with external agencies and vendors to execute specialized campaigns and projects.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality or convention industry.
Skills: Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, analytics, and CRM platforms. Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns. Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills. Experience working with large-scale convention or conference hotels is highly desirable.
