The

Senior

Kitchen Designer

at

Boston Building Resources

will meet with customers (homeowners, architects, builders and designers) to assess needs, create designs and cost estimates, complete sales, place orders, and communicate with all stakeholders involved in the project. This position includes occasional site visits as well as teaching workshops on kitchen design. You will enjoy a friendly work environment and diverse clientele. This individual reports to the General Manager of BBR and works closely with another designer and other staff to serve all customers of BBR.

Specifically, the Kitchen Designer is responsible for ensuring the following takes place: Meet with customers (members) to understand their needs and budgets Design kitchens on 20/20 software Prepare drawings (floor plans, elevations and perspectives) Price, sell and order cabinets, counters and related products Become thoroughly familiar with all of BBR’s cabinet and countertop offerings and answer customer questions about the products Arrange deliveries and collect payments for cabinet and counter orders Assist with maintaining cabinet displays and samples. Coordinate between customers and vendors, including creating and maintaining details and drawings specific for each job

Qualifications

Excellent organizational and communication skills Computer proficiency including 20/20 design software Understand residential construction techniques, building materials and construction drawings, including knowledge of cabinet construction, appliance specifications, and plumbing & electrical components of kitchens Anticipate installation details and potential problems in the design phase Experience noting details on drawings calling attention to important details for the installer Precision in pricing and ordering Willingness to ask questions Enthusiastic, service oriented attitude, customer priority with a demonstrated history of reliability while working collaboratively as a team member Ability to manage several tasks at once while remaining calm (i.e. phones, customers, accepting deliveries, questions from other staff, etc.) Four years (minimum) experience in kitchen design Ability to work occasional Saturdays Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Salary & Benefits Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications 10 paid holidays per year 2 weeks paid vacation for first three years of service, after third year 3 weeks per year, after six years 4 weeks per year 3 paid personal days per year Up to 5 paid sick days per year Contribution to the premium of health insurance plan 3% matching contribution to a retirement fund after one year of service.
