Your Opportunity Ohana Design & Build is seeking an inspired, visionary Senior Interior Designer to join our expanding Design Services Team in Park City, UT. In this role, you will lead the creative direction for high-end residential and hospitality projects, ensuring that every design element aligns with the client’s vision and our studio’s standards of excellence. The ideal candidate is a design-driven leader with a passion for crafting unique, functional, and beautiful spaces that leave a lasting impact. We are seeking a candidate who will thrive in a team environment working closely with other designers and design support team members.

As Senior Designer, your primary responsibility will be to shape and execute design concepts that captivate and inspire. You will take the lead on creative direction and management for some of the studio’s projects and could be responsible for managing multiple design team members to include mentorship. You will also provide creative input and collaboration to other designers and team members, helping to ensure all of the studio’s projects are designed and executed at the highest level.

A bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture is required. Candidates should have at least five years of experience leading creative direction and making high-level design selections for luxury residential or hospitality projects.

This position will report directly to the Assistant Design Manager in the Park City office, providing operational management, day-to-day coordination, project assignments, and overall oversight, while also maintaining a strategic reporting link to the VP of Design for high-level guidance, conceptual input, and involvement in projects that may be executed across other offices as needed. The candidate must either reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Park City, Utah area.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Creative Direction . Take ownership of the creative vision for each project, including conceptual development, spatial planning, color schemes, and material selection. Design and present innovative concepts that inspire clients and elevate the overall aesthetic experience. Provide creative input, direction, and collaborate with other designers and team members to ensure all projects are designed and executed at the highest level. ·

Client Collaboration & Design Presentation . Engage with clients directly to understand their needs and aspirations, and present compelling design concepts using mood boards, sketches, and 3D visualizations. Lead client meetings with confidence, ensuring the design vision is clearly communicated and refined. ·

Design Conceptualization & Selections.

Lead the comprehensive interior design process for custom spaces, encompassing all required design selections to include, but not limited to, flooring, tile, interior architectural features, millwork, appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting, furniture, rugs, and window treatments. Ensure that every element aligns with the overarching design concept, resulting in cohesive, functional, architecturally sound, and visually compelling interiors. ·

Creative Team Leadership & Project Oversight.

Mentor and inspire the creative team, fostering a collaborative environment that values innovation and excellence. Serve as an experienced leader to Project Managers, providing strategic direction and hands-on guidance in the planning and execution of projects. Ensure all initiatives reflect the organization’s creative vision and maintain the highest standards of design quality and effectiveness. ·

Design Documentation & Presentation.

Oversee the creation of detailed design documentation—including floor plans, elevations, specifications, and schedules—to ensure the accurate implementation of creative concepts. Confirm that all designs are constructionally viable and seamlessly integrated with architectural plans. Support and guide the team in preparing clear, compelling presentations using AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, and InDesign, ensuring professional and consistent project deliverables. ·

Trendsetting & Research . Stay ahead of design trends and continuously explore new materials, products, and creative strategies. Incorporate innovative design solutions and cutting-edge trends into your projects, ensuring that your designs are always fresh and on the pulse of the industry. ·

Vendor Collaboration & Selection . Curate relationships with top-tier suppliers and artisans to source high-quality products and materials that elevate the design aesthetic. Oversee the creative selection of all finishes, furnishings, and accessories, ensuring they align with your vision for the project. ·

Quality Control & Design Integrity . During site visits and installations, ensure that all design elements are executed with precision, maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Review and approve final design installations to guarantee that the client’s vision is fully realized. ·

Construction Knowledge & Code Compliance.

Must demonstrate a deep understanding of construction processes and be adept at coordinating all design selections with constructability standards. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, guidelines, and industry best practices, thereby guaranteeing that every design concept can be effectively and safely executed on site.

Qualifications and Traits ·

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture required ·

5+ years of experience as a lead interior designer for luxury residential design projects ·

Professional design affiliations, such as membership with ASID, IIDA, and/or NCIDQ certification, are highly preferred ·

Proficiency in Revit (preferred) or AutoCAD ·

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ·

Strong graphic skills with an eye for detail and visual storytelling ·

Proven ability to lead creative teams, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with other design professionals ·

Excellent client-facing presentation and communication skills ·

Ability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on the overall design vision ·

Passion for innovation, with a keen understanding of design trends and an eagerness to push creative boundaries ·

Exceptional taste and style with an ability to design both functionally and aesthetically beautiful spaces
