Aquent is hiring: Director of Photography in Los Angeles County

Our global retailer client is in need of a Director of Photography (DP) / Content Creator with a proven track record in shooting stills and video content, particularly for social. Documentary-style campaigns is a bonus. The ideal candidate has extensive experience running sets, assembling top-tier crews in LA, and producing responsive, fashion-forward social content. A passion for fashion and deep connections within the LA production community are essential.

**** MUST BE LA BASED, this role is fully onsite. This is a contract for nearly 1 year +*****

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Lead still and video shoots, including social-first campaigns, tabletop, lifestyle, and portrait photography.
• Camera Operation: Handle camera setup, lighting, and technical execution for both still and video formats.
• Set Leadership: Run production sets efficiently, managing crew and ensuring smooth shoot execution.
• Creative Vision: Collaborate with creative teams to translate brand goals into compelling visual content.
• Resourcefulness: Work with limited budgets while maintaining high production value.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years as a DP, specializing in social, documentary, and/or branded content or w/ a Creator title; similar
• Portfolio: Must provide a reel or portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in professional camera systems, lighting, and set management.
• Networked: Strong relationships with LA-based production crews, stylists, and creative talent.
• Fashion-Focused: Passion for fashion and experience shooting fashion-oriented content is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Able to adapt quickly and find creative solutions in fast-paced environments.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $75 - $90 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
