is hiring a Designer to support Utility projects. This is a contract-to-hire position providing a long-term training and development program leading directly to a Lead Designer position internal. You'll conduct field/site surveying, assist in project estimation, and then produce designs and construction prints for assigned projects. This provides a base salary, comprehensive benefits, 401k and commuter benefits of a hybrid schedule upon completing the training program.
Responsibilities Create designs for both overhead and underground electric distribution infrastructure. Perform distribution line design calculations for structure loading, geometric angle calculations, and initiate designs for construction projects. Survey field equipment for data collection, as-built surveys, and then execute/develop designs. Meet with property owners, other engineering firms and construction resources.
Qualifications 3+ years’ of experience with electric distribution design and estimation - highly preferred. 3+ years’ of experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. High School Diploma or Technical Degree - highly preferred. Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, and related software programs including, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word.
