POSITION SUMMARY:

The marketing manager is responsible for the organizations marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business, amongst all brands.

The marketing manager is responsible for expanding the brands awareness in the outdoor marketplace. Additionally, this position is responsible for the overall execution of the brand strategy as well as the consistency of brand representation across all media and product, social, digital marketing, advertising, events/outreach/trade shows, public relations, promotions, guerrilla marketing, cause marketing, partnerships, retail packaging and displays, sales materials and catalogs. The position will work closely with our Corporate Creative Director, the product team and sales team regarding market and product trends, product positioning, strategy, and relevance to the brand, with retailers and consumers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Marketing
    1. Assists in creation of annual marketing plan and manages its execution including the yearly marketing budget.
    2. Conducts regular market research to track competitive branding and content trends.
    3. Develops and supports key online and retail marketing relationships.
    4. Generates annual product/sales collateral for sales meetings and trade shows.
  • Brand Management
    1. Develops brand assets as needed to create a thorough and purposeful consumer communication.
    2. Collaborates with product and sales teams in development of the assets needed
    3. In conjunction with Product, sales and Creative director, this role develops brand campaign and category stories.
    4. Develops product copy and marketing messaging copy.
  • Public Relations
    1. Creates PR strategies and works with internal/external PR contacts to create content and execute initiatives.
    2. Develops and creates press kit materials and contacts media as needed.
    3. Manages PR agency relationships
  • Close collaboration with web team
    1. Content briefs.
    2. Schedule of emails, homepage promotion, product launches, site updates, promotions, etc.
    3. Tracks progress and success.
  • Consumer events and Trade show management
    1. Creates and manages show and vendor deadline schedule.
    2. Manages sample shipment and setup.
    3. Manages signage creation, delivery, setup.
    4. Manages related budget.
  • Online content management
    1. Manages product and lifestyle photoshoots and video, to include.
      • Scripting.
      • Directing.
      • Acting and actor management.
      • Vendor management.
      • Content upload for team access.
    2. Manages relevant outside vendor base and solicits new sources as needed.
    3. Ensures consistency with brand standards.
    4. Proposes new content where it supports business initiatives.
    5. Responsible for BOX Marketing organization, naming, seasonal updates/deadlines.
    6. Responsible for Salsify Marketing content uploads and upkeep.
  • Social Media
    1. Develops a calendar of initiatives aligned with web and product promotion schedule.
  • Closely monitor and work with CS team to Improve consumer relationships and consumer loyalty.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Direct Report Management
    1. Direct the daily task of Content & Marketing Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or related field of study.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience and knowledge include working closely with senior management and in a team environment, a broad range of marketing experience with in-depth knowledge of marketing elements, experience evaluating markets and identifying opportunities.
  • Solid creative judgment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of SEO, copywriting, video/studio production experience and social media experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, drive, confidence, risk taking and influence.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Must be team, customer and brand focused/responsive in all ways.
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Software skills include Microsoft Suite, Google Analytics, Graphic Design Suite (Adobe, etc.)
  • An understanding of and experience with camping, backpacking and hiking is required. Must be passionate about the outdoors.
BUDGET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Manages Marketing budget for Specialty division including event budgets.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Specialty Content and Marketing Coordinator.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

A collaborative, open space work environment located on the second floor of the 40,000 sq. foot facility located in Broomfield, Colorado. Team members share a common desk area. There are approximately 50 employees in the 40,000 sq. ft Broomfield corporate facility which houses a workout facility, multiple quiet telephone booths and a large employee breakroom for the employee's use.

Salary range for the Marketing Manager position is $75,000-$85,000 annually based on education and prior experience.
