Job Summary:
The Pittsburgh Penguins are seeking a Manager Digital to assist with all Digital department projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience website management (ex. working within a CMS), UI/UX in mobile apps, growing a YouTube channel and digital marketing overall.
A standard 40-hour work week is expected, along with availability for games, events, and projects as needed. Additional hours and heavy workloads are considered normal during the season and during peak periods, and typically includes weekends, evenings, and holidays according to the established team schedule.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is up-to-date with best practices regarding web development, sports apps, social media and digital marketing. Their primary responsibilities will be overseeing the website, mobile application and being at the forefront of new technologies to help the team engage with existing fans and attract new fans. Secondary responsibilities include assistance with organic social and paid digital marketing efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and optimize the Penguins website to be mobile-first and interactive for fans across ticketing, partnership, and marketing pages
- Day-to-day management of the Penguins website (within league-wide CMS; HTML/CSS experience will be helpful), app, and YouTube channel
- Provide analytics on web, app, and YouTube to internal and external stakeholders
- Find creative ways to compel fans to flow from one page to the next while minimizing drop-off
- Research best practices on web, social, and app; keep updated on industry trends and technological developments and propose suggestions for improvements
- Create unique, engaging content for Penguins fans
- Assist with partner campaigns from ideation to execution
- Collaborate with Digital and Partnership Marketing teams to create content and programs that inspire and entertain Penguins fans, ultimately driving partner business goals while maintaining Pittsburgh Penguins brand standards
- Identify new digital streams for potential revenue
- Assist the digital content team in working game nights, significant team events (i.e. NHL Draft, Trade Deadline, Free Agency) and overall team coverage.
- Proficiency in website design
- Training in UI/UX best practices
- Experience managing content for accounts on YouTube
- Experience managing content for consumption via mobile app
- Willingness to learn different techniques to continue advancing the Penguins' digital presence
- CMS experience (NHL CMS/Deltatre Forge experience ideal)
- Proven skills and experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Ability to Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines at once
- Ability to ingest, analyze and report data, as well as using data to make decisions
- Strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team and/or independently on multiple projects
- Familiarity with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh sports culture
- Positive attitude, passion for excellence, and commitment to continual improvement
- High degree of personal integrity and honesty
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, within and outside the department
- Curiosity and creative mindset with the confidence to sell ideas, as well as accept feedback on ideas from other
- Willingness to be open to alternative approaches to problem-solving
- Minimum of a four-year degree in digital media, sports management, marketing, communications, multi-media journalism, or similar area of study
- Two+ year(s) of related work experience preferred
- Experience in the sports industry a plus
- HTML, CSS knowledge
- Experience in app design
- Understanding of digital marketing analytics
- Experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suite
