The Grant Writer will work within NIA's development team with a focus on researching, preparing, and submitting grant proposals and applications, including local, state, and federal government funding and support from private and corporate foundations. Primary responsibilities include researching and tracking opportunities, relationship management, preparing and submitting grant proposals, and supporting the implementation of new grants.

Description
The Grant Writer will work within NIA's development team with a focus on researching, preparing, and submitting grant proposals and applications, including local, state, and federal government funding and support from private and corporate foundations. Primary responsibilities include researching and tracking opportunities, relationship management, preparing and submitting grant proposals, and supporting the implementation of new grants.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify public and private funding opportunities.
- Develop grant narratives, budgets, and supporting documents in collaboration with the Executive Team, Fiscal Team, Programmatic Team, Development Team, and other key staff.
- Coordinate across departments to secure the needed data and financial information for proposals, reports, and grant tracking.
- Coordinate with program staff to develop solid understanding of organization's programs, initiatives, and history in order to prepare compelling and well-documented proposals.
- Work alongside the development department to cultivate potential funder relationships.
- Prepare routine reports to keep management and board of directors apprised of current and upcoming funding efforts.
- Manage time-sensitive submission deadlines.
- Any related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related subject and at least 3 years in grant writing with proven success.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage projects on a timeline
- Computer literacy: Excel, Word, and experience with on-line research and resources required.
- Experience with funder databases preferred.
- Experience with fundraising platforms a plus.
