Position Description
Position Summary: The Photographer & Visual Media Coordinator is part of Eastern's dynamic, creative, award-winning University Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this individual is responsible for developing and directing the creation of visual content for various print and digital/multimedia marketing projects. Primary roles include Photography, serving as Producer for photo and video projects, and managing University Videographer.
Status: Staff, Full-time, Exempt, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year

Photo/Video Oversight and Coordination:
- Manage logistics, production, and coordination of all photo and video shoots. This includes booking talent and spaces, developing shoot-day schedules, collaborating with stakeholders, overseeing interviews, and leading with a creative eye.
- Initiate and collaborate with visual team to develop creative concepts for marketing and student life collateral such as advertising, social media, web, and print projects such as the University magazine.
- Identify areas to develop/elevate visual content on all social media platforms, website, TV, and print.
- Initiate and draft video scripts and concepts, which might include voiceovers, text overlays on video footage, or multiple actors.
Photography:
- Serve as a University Photographer and cover various events that reflect the life of the University
- Produce and manage photos for Eastern Magazine and other print pieces
- Post-process and edit all images in Adobe Creative Suite
- Curate and manage photography files for University archives
Management:
- Oversee videography, and social media team functions, task list, and calendars. When necessary, provide on-ground support during important University events, such as Commencement.
- Collaborate and assist Social Media Coordinator to oversee content and editorial calendar for the University's main social media channels.
- Curate and help manage photo and video library for the University archives and Eastern's YouTube Channel.
- Collaborate with marketing design team to produce visual content consistent with brand messaging and ensure deadlines are met.
- Oversee and collaborate with student workers and volunteers who assist in generating content.
Collaboration:
- Reflect University branding in all content creation, development, and publicizing. Collaborate with and assist other members of the Marketing team with various creative projects.
- Communicate by phone, in person, and via email with people at all levels of the University. Occasionally attend meetings as part of the Marketing team with individuals and departments to discuss their photography, videography, or social media needs and requests.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills
- Highly motivated and takes initiative. Confident communicator.
- Demonstrated ability to develop story ideas for multiple audiences across varied media
- Competent and creative writer.
- Artistic eye and ability to come up with creative vision
- Thorough knowledge of social media platforms and how they are being used today
- Ability to use Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Talented in digital photography with technical knowledge of DSLR camera systems and Adobe suite.
- Bachelor's degree preferred (but not required) in Marketing, Communication Studies, Digital Media, or related field.
- 3-5 years professional experience in photography, videography, social media, or other forms of digital media.
- Ability to proofread and edit content
- Interest in and experience with film sets and photo studios
- Experience with analytics from social content platforms
