  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Media and Communications Specialist plays a key role in elevating the school's digital communication strategies. This position will be responsible for assisting the team in conceptualizing, designing, and executing high-quality content across all relevant social and digital channels. Produce and design social content and visuals. Create videos of in-class activities and school events for content to be used on TSC sites and social media, to help build common language around academic programs. This involves creating captivating content and ensuring the smooth operation of media systems. The incumbent should be detail oriented, have strong writing skills, be organized and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. These efforts are aimed at supporting students, teachers, and administration in shaping and executing the school's digital communication systems.

Responsibilities

Brand and Marketing: 55%

  • Assist the team in conceptualizing, designing, and executing high-quality content across all relevant social and digital channels. Produce and design social content and visuals.
  • Create videos of in-class activities and school events for content to be used on TSC sites and social media, to help build common language around academic programs.
  • Provide support for the creation, implementation, and use of the digital resources inside
    and outside of the classrooms as well as develop, install, and maintain software and hardware required to support such efforts.
  • Produce high-quality programming that originates from various events across multiple departments into compelling marketing assets.
  • Create engaging social media content, including photos/videos, to illustrate brand messaging and marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate the documentation and training required for the creation of superior, accessible media materials and assist in the planning of such projects.
  • Provide support to The School's community in the use of digital media.
  • Document and film classroom, grade-level and school-wide events and edit content in a timely manner into finished products that can be shared on school's media channels.
  • Work with the Communications Director on special projects related to school identity, print and online school materials; and implement the school's electronic portfolio system.
  • Support administration, teachers and students working with multimedia applications.
  • Participate in Integrated Projects Week.
  • Provide support in coordination of the Annual School Yearbook.
  • Create, review and edit content with strong attention to detail and be accessible for pre-production, production and post-production meetings.
    • Create new and exciting content with existing imagery and assets.
  • Help grow and elevate TSC's digital presence by assisting with the creation of designs for all media projects.
  • Develop concepts and campaigns for multiple departments for use across various mediums, with an emphasis on digital and video executions.
  • Oversee and provide direction on creative content to ensure it is on-brand and optimized for audience journeys across multiple mediums such as web, social, email, video, A/V, print and others.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues as needed.

Video Production: 30%

  • Serve as in-house school videographer; support school photography.
  • Set up, test, and re-pack all audio and video equipment before and after events; keep all equipment organized and charged, and in good working condition, at all times; chart and report recommended repairs/replacements as needed.
  • Consult on media-related purchases, particularly those related to digital video.

Instructional Support: 15%

  • Support the school's media archives.
  • Advise teachers on their in-class multimedia and digital video projects.
  • Work with Educational Technologists to integrate media, particularly digital video, into the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent and at least 0-2 years or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably in a school).
  • Working knowledge of and experience with the innovative use of digital media technologies.
  • Photo/video experience as a camera operator, photographer and editor.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and social media marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and video/photo editing for social media.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on weekends/evenings as needed for events.
  • Appreciation of and advocacy for diversity within a school setting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Physical strength to carry heavy equipment and the ability to lift equipment up to 40lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and fluency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, emerging design program software and the Asana platform is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
