REFORM Alliance is a national organization seeking to safely reduce the number of people on probation and parole and create real pathways to work and wellness for people who have been supervised instead of supported. Position Overview
In this position, you’ll shoot and edit videos and photos for various products and settings. You will also create graphics for social media posts, digital campaigns, and other projects.
The Video Production Manager oversees all aspects of video production, from concept development to final delivery. This role involves managing outsourced photographers and videographers, producing content for social media and live events, and ensuring timely project completion. The successful candidate will maintain high-quality standards, meet project deadlines, and contribute creatively to the organization’s storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production and Videography:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of video projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Manage and coordinate the production team to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop concepts, storyboards, and scripts.
- Ensure final video products meet established quality standards.
- Address and resolve production-related issues.
- Maintain and manage production equipment, ensuring it is functional and available.
- Oversee the editing process and finalize videos for distribution.
- Shoot and edit high-quality video footage for various projects.
- Manage camera work, including angles, movements, and setup.
- Set up and manage cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for shoots.
- Record professional-quality audio to complement video footage.
- Provide creative input on shots and visual styles.
- Scout and evaluate locations for video shoots.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve project objectives.
Photography:
- Capture professional-quality images that align with project needs.
- Plan, design, and execute themed photo shoots.
- Edit and retouch images to meet high visual standards.
Social Media & Live Event Production:
- Draft social media posts, including copy, for leadership review and approval.
- Manage and produce content for live events, ensuring high-quality media elements are in place.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams on video concept planning and script writing.
- Create engaging social media content in both video and photo formats.
- Participate in team discussions on campaigns and strategies.
- Follow brand and logo guidelines as outlined by corporate business requirements.
- Assist the social media manager with visual-related tasks.
- Create and design various materials for digital and print platforms.
- Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts to enhance creative projects.
- Ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality.
- Perform quality assurance on designs to identify and correct errors.
- Collaborate with fellow designers to develop innovative graphic approaches.
- Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software.
- Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
- Implement feedback and make changes as needed.
- Assist with graphic design projects, including logo/brand identity, posters, event graphics, and online ads.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Post-secondary education in Videography & Photography or equivalent experience (Diploma or Degree).
- 3-5+ years of video editing experience (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere).
- Strong color grading skills.
- Basic understanding of media production processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva).
- Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration.
- Knowledge of social media best practices for creating engaging content, including calls-to-action and headlines.
- Strong understanding of online marketing campaigns.
- Must be able to move and carry video production equipment as-needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Google Analytics.
- Experience with Facebook ads.
- Understanding of SEO.
- Web design and user experience (UX) design.
- Google AdWords certification.
- Graphic design experience (minimum two years).
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and print/web production.
- Experience with both print and digital media.
Salary: The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be ~$115,000. REFORM offers competitive base salaries based on the 75th percentile of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously.
We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that in-office work brings to our team. Therefore, we gather in our New York City (midtown) office five (5) days a week. The role requires staff to live within commuting distance of New York City.
