Seeking an UX Design Lead to join its API Program and design for
business-critical APIs and other developer tools on internal and external facing portals.
The UX Designer will be responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered designs for our digital products and services, reporting directly to the UX Design Manager. They will work remotely or in a hybrid capacity, closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, conduct user research, and develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate design concepts and ideas.
The ideal candidate is a user-experience professional with a passion for solving problems and creating great robust and standardized experiences. They must have strong communication and leadership skills, be able to think critically and champion the design process, and have familiarity with design systems.
A good understanding of development standards, APIs and software development processes is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct user research and create user personas
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
• Conduct user testing and gather feedback
• Communicate design concepts and ideas to stakeholders, lead design reviews and presentations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design solutions
• Continuously improve the design process and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices
• Ensure that designs are accessible and inclusive for all users
• Create documentation and design specifications
• Have a good understanding of design systems
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in a UX design role
• Experience shepherding junior designers
• Strong portfolio of previous UX design work
• Strong proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong leadership skills and ability to think critically
• A passion for creating great user experiences
• Experience working remotely or in a hybrid setting
• Comfortable with remote collaboration tools and technologies
Nice to have:
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and basic web development concepts
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Familiarity with development standards, APIs and software development
processes
• Experience with research methods such as usability testing, surveys.
