Under general direction, plan and manage media placement and communication channels (social media, website, email, app, etc) the for Boardwalk, Inns of Santa Cruz, Boardwalk Bowl and other SCSC holdings and interests. Expert in CTV, OTT, web and app digital marketing, social media advertising, digital and broadcast reporting, Google Analytics, Google Ads, watching for trends and adjusting for the highest ROI and lowest CPM. Works closely with the Creative Manager and Project Manager to create assets for campaigns.
Unique Job Requirements
This position serves as the key contact for the Advertising department, working with internal clients on advertising strategies, media buys and trafficking creative elements. Requires excellent organizational, interpersonal and negotiating skills. Assists in special departmental projects. Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines and to work with interruptions and manage multiple tasks. Required to work evenings and weekends.
Job Tasks
ADVERTISING
* Develop advertising strategies with clients and media representatives for the Boardwalk, Group Sales, Inns of Santa Cruz, Boardwalk Bowl and other SCSC departments and interests.
* Responsible for the coordinated and consistent approach in all advertising efforts across all media platforms.
* Work with Director of Marketing & Sales to develop budgets, select strategic marketing partners, and advertising proposals.
* Manage media placement and purchase of social, web, print, broadcast, and outdoor advertising.
* Select, hire and direct outside agencies as needed to achieve advertising goals (ie: ad agency, photographers, video production.)
* Manage Social Media Manager to ensure proper assets are being used and tested and social advertising strategies are met.
* Work with Creative Manager and Project Manager to collect assets as needed for ad campaigns.
* Regularly test advertising campaigns and creatives. Analyze reports, watch for trends and adjust as needed for the highest ROI and lowest CPM.
* Route videos to all media partners and maintains routing documentation with production company.
* Keep abreast of trends, innovations and changes that affect media planning.
* Responsible for broadcast quarterly reporting and posting.
* Manage company use of UTM tracking codes.
* Secure no cost media sponsorships for multiple annual events, drafting LOAs, ensuring execution of deliverables by both parties.
* Provide post-buy reports and quarterly reports, evaluate, and make recommendations for improved placements.
* Order, maintain and traffic digital and broadcast spots and print ads.
* Oversee the reconciliation of media buys, trafficking of creative elements and maintaining advertising specific databases.
* Oversee and approve media contracts and invoices for accuracy and delivery.
* Manage media files including budgets, contracts, deliverables and reports.
* Manage paid campaigns on all self-serve advertising platforms, including HULU and Disney +, Snap and YouTube.
* Responsible for understanding demographics for all clients, and meets monthly with Placer.io rep.
* Manage and oversee placement of 100% trade buys.
* Oversee Sony Music programs.
COMMUNICATIONS
* Manage Social Media Manager to ensure brand voice and clear messaging and communication.
* Work with contracted webmaster to ensure communication is clear, current, and compliant across all sites and pages.
* Webmaster account management and payment, including Nitropack, Elementor, Slider Revolution, Smashballoon, Portfolio, Bit.ly, Accessibe, FontAwesome, Disqus, WP Engine, WPForms, AddThis, GoDaddy, Vimeo, InMotion Hosting, Network Solutions, Cloudflare, Yext, SurveyMonkey, Formstack, Mailchimp, and UpTimeRobot.
* Respond to all CCPA Request Submissions.
* Perform simple web updates as needed. (ie: Update Arcade Hours on a weekly basis, including posting and deleting any special event closures.)
* Oversee web design, and the integration of digital and social media.
* Manage and customize YouTube sites for Boardwalk and Boardwalk Bowl.
* Manage online pressroom.
* Manage digital image gallery and provide assets as requested to media outlets.
* Manage and oversee all digital location information for all clients, including Yext, Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor including weekly hour updates.
* Oversee the development of stories for submission to trade publications.
* Act as company spokesperson as needed for soft and hard news stories
* Provide updates on the Advertising & Communications trends, finding, projects, and team at monthly Marketing meetings and other meetings as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Training and Experience
* At least five years of increasingly responsible Advertising agency experience planning and managing and coordinating accounts, production and writing copy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge and expertise in Google Ads, Google Analytics and GA4, Meta Ads Manager, CTV and OTT advertising platforms.
* Knowledge of latest broadcast, digital marketing, and social media trends.
* Knowledge of self-serve advertising platforms including HULU and Disney +, Snap and YouTube.
* Knowledge of business math, English, spelling and grammar; office procedures and practices, and record keeping systems.
* Knowledge of Marketing and Advertising functions and programs including TV, web, radio, social media, print and outdoor advertising.
* Ability to develop advertising strategies with clients and media representatives.
* Ability to manage media placement and purchase print, broadcast, web and outdoor advertising.
* Ability to place and reconcile media buys, traffic creative elements and maintain advertising specific databases.
* Ability to write for print, radio and television to reach the market.
* Ability to perform varied and difficult management and clerical work using independent judgment, with accuracy and speed.

Licenses / Insurance
Possess and maintain a valid California U.S. Driver's License at the time of hire. Required to maintain automobile liability coverage with a minimum of $15,000.00 bodily injury one person/$30,000.00 bodily injury total accident/$5,000.00 property damage coverage per California's minimum liability insurance requirements. (Required if the employee will at anytime use own vehicle to perform company business functions)
