Job Summary
The Vice President of Advertising Technology for a leading healthcare media company plays a critical role in advancing the company's advertising technology ecosystem. You will oversee the strategy, development, and optimization of ad platforms, ensuring they deliver effective, measurable, and compliant ad campaigns to healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients, and other target audiences. This leadership role requires deep expertise in digital advertising technologies, data management, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA), as well as a passion for innovation in the healthcare advertising space.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive advertising technology strategy aligned with business goals, market opportunities, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and marketing, to drive the adoption of innovative ad technologies.
  3. Partner with C-level executives to define goals and measure the effectiveness of advertising initiatives, ensuring that all ad tech solutions are scalable and revenue-generating.
  4. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance advertising efficiency and engagement across healthcare verticals.

Ad Technology Management:

  1. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the company's ad platforms, including programmatic, direct, and native ad technologies.
  2. Lead the integration and optimization of demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), and customer data platforms (CDPs) within the healthcare media landscape.
  3. Manage data-driven advertising operations, ensuring accurate targeting, real-time optimization, and high-quality ad inventory performance.
  4. Collaborate with internal legal and compliance teams to ensure advertising technologies meet healthcare industry standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  5. Lead the development of cutting-edge digital health solutions: Oversee the engineering of systems like PatientPoint Focus that enable personalized, 1:1 patient engagement both inside and outside the doctor's office, ensuring seamless interaction across the entire patient journey.

Team Leadership & Development:

  1. Build and lead a high-performance team of advertising technology experts, including developers, analysts, and ad operations specialists.
  2. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
  3. Work with HR and recruitment teams to identify and onboard top talent to enhance the company's advertising technology capabilities.

Data & Analytics:

  1. Lead the implementation of advanced analytics and attribution models to optimize ad spend, targeting, and campaign effectiveness.
  2. Ensure that ad technology systems provide actionable insights for both internal stakeholders and external advertisers, with a focus on ROI and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  3. Utilize healthcare-specific data sources and third-party integrations to drive precise audience targeting, in compliance with industry regulations.

Partnership & Vendor Management:

  1. Manage relationships with key ad tech vendors, including ad exchanges, SSPs, DSPs, and data providers.
  2. Negotiate contracts and service agreements with third-party partners to optimize costs and ensure access to cutting-edge technologies.
  3. Oversee the development of custom solutions to enhance the company's competitive edge in healthcare advertising.

Compliance & Privacy:

  1. Ensure that all advertising technology platforms comply with healthcare-specific regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and other data privacy laws.
  2. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop best practices for data usage, consent management, and secure ad delivery.

What We Need

  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Advertising, or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of experience in advertising technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare or a highly regulated industry.
  3. Proven experience managing and scaling ad tech platforms, including DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, and CDPs.
  4. Deep understanding of programmatic advertising, real-time bidding (RTB), and data-driven marketing strategies.
  5. Familiarity with healthcare advertising regulations, including HIPAA and other industry-specific guidelines.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  8. Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Knowledge of current trends in digital marketing, AI, machine learning, and automation as applied to ad tech.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Experience with healthcare data and analytics platforms.
  2. Expertise in managing large-scale programmatic ad campaigns targeting HCPs and healthcare consumers.
  3. Technical knowledge of APIs, SDKs, and other ad tech integrations.
