A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Senior Attorney to join its Advertising, Marketing & Promotions practice in Seattle, WA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with top brands, Fortune 500 companies, and innovative startups on advertising, consumer protection, and marketing matters.
This is a non-partnership track position with a lower annual billable hour requirement, competitive compensation, and a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will play a leadership role in managing and mentoring a team while advising clients on complex advertising and marketing law matters.
A hybrid work environment is preferred, with visits to the Seattle office required. Fully remote arrangements may be considered based on location approval.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school.
- Graduation Year Requirement: JD earned 2012-2018 (Senior-Level Attorneys Encouraged).
- 8+ years of experience handling advertising, marketing, and consumer protection matters.
- Prior Experience at a Law Firm or In-House Legal Department (Preferred).
- Experience in:
- Drafting and negotiating agreements for advertising agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and media buying.
- Reviewing ad copy for false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity issues.
- Advising on compliance for sweepstakes, contests, and promotional campaigns.
- Counseling on price advertising, recurring subscription programs, and loyalty/rewards programs.
- Navigating federal and state regulatory frameworks, including FTC, state AG enforcement, and consumer protection laws.
- Handling false advertising and unfair competition disputes, including National Advertising Division (NAD) matters (Preferred).
- Strong legal research, writing, and contract drafting skills.
- Excellent client counseling and risk assessment abilities.
- Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bar Admission in Washington or eligibility to waive in (Preferred but not Required).
- Pacific Northwest location preference, but remote arrangements will be considered.
- Salary Range: $180,000 $205,000
- Bonus Structure: Performance-based discretionary bonuses
