We are seeking a creative and skilled 2D Animator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of animation principles and storytelling, with the ability to create high-quality 2D animations that captivate and engage audiences.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualise and Produce Animatics
- References storyboards to produce animatics with assets from relevant parties e.g. Game and 3D Designers.
- Liaises with Game Designer and relevant parties for input and approval.
- Work with Game Designer and relevant parties to refine timing and editing.
- Produces final animatic for use by relevant parties e.g. Game and Sound Designers.
Brand Integrity
- Design animations that support the game theme and target audience.
- Maintains Brand integrity throughout the game's design, main, payouts, bonus screens, intro and sound.
- Takes into account cultural references and perceptions as per best practice.
- Conducts research when necessary to facilitate meeting the projects requirements.
Produces Game & Character Animations
- Produces final animations in required format for implementation.
- Conceptualizes new game & character animations based on storyboards and input from relevant parties.
- Creates or requests any additional assets required.
- Liaises with relevant parties for input and approval.
Provide Technical Support
- Provides training and mentoring.
- To have an effective working knowledge of the product software.
- Promote the correct archiving and template systems.
- Understand and have knowledge of the technical aspects of building the relevant software product.
- Actively seeks to understand and meet stakeholder expectations and product requirements.
Specialist Outputs
- Ability to conceptualise and drive the creation process of animation.
- Regularly conduct in depth competitor research.
- Document research and present findings to the team regularly.
- Ensure the animation process is competitive and optimised.
- Collaborates closely on overall product sequencing and timing.
Qualifications:
- Graphic Design Diploma/ BA Multimedia in Digital Visual Arts or equivalent experience in relevant industry
- Relevant software experience i.e. After Effects AND Spine (4 years plus)
- Minimum 2 years relevant design experience
