Job Summary
The Disney Musicals in Schools (DMIS) program exists to help elementary and middle schools in a public school setting to build a sustainable tradition of musical theater in their school culture. TA's will work with a team of teachers at participating schools for a 17-week rehearsal residency. They will simultaneously work with students and teach teachers how to put on a musical. Schools will be producing a 30-min Disney KIDS musical or a 60-minute Disney JUNIOR musical.
This is a variable, non-benefitted position. The actual schedule varies based on academic scheduling but is mostly late afternoons. School rehearsals range in length, from 90-minutes to two hours and often begin immediately following school day dismissal.

Roles & Responsibilities
- With the support of another Overture Teaching Artist, model and execute effective rehearsal strategies and production management, supporting both Teachers and Students throughout the planning, rehearsal, and performance process.
- Participate in professional development opportunities for both teaching artists and school teams throughout all phases of the residency.
- Embrace and participate in the advancement of the JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) mission and vision of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience directing, choreographing, music directing musicals
- Experience working in residency at schools alongside teachers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work seamlessly in both individual and team environments
- Ability to provide feedback to teachers.
- Passion for exceeding objectives and embracing new responsibilities
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
