Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated RPG Black & White Artist on a 1099 contractor basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both traditional and digital art techniques, with a focus on black and white illustrations. As an integral member of our art team, you will work closely with game designers and other artists to create stunning character designs, environments, creatures, and other assets that will elevate our RPG experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality black and white illustrations for various RPG-related materials, including rulebooks, adventure modules, character designs, monster illustrations, and promotional content.
- Work from concept sketches, briefs, and references provided by game designers or other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure artwork aligns with the project’s visual style, tone, and narrative.
- Ensure all artwork is completed on time and meets the company’s quality standards.
- Revise artwork based on feedback from the creative director or game designer.
- Maintain clear communication and organization in all deliverables to ensure timely project completion.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a black and white illustrator, ideally in the RPG, fantasy, or similar genres.
- Strong portfolio showcasing black and white line art, including character designs, environment concepts, and creature illustrations.
- Proficiency in traditional and digital art tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or similar).
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to incorporate feedback into revisions.
- Familiarity with RPG genres, lore, and visual styles is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on tabletop RPGs or in a similar creative field.
- Familiarity with the creative process for RPG publishing, including book layouts and design.
- Ability to contribute to visual storytelling through art.
