Job Description
The Daily Beast is seeking a data-savvy, motivated, and creative audience development intern (with a focus) to join our innovative team. This is a part-time, hourly position with an initial three-month period and the potential for extension.
The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding social media dynamics, leveraging data to identify trends, and optimizing content performance on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, BlueSky, and Threads. You'll work closely with our Data and Editorial teams to craft data-driven social strategies that drive engagement and traffic.

The pay range for this position is: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Job Description

You'll work closely with our Data and Editorial teams to craft data-driven social strategies that drive engagement and traffic.
Responsibilities
- Analyze trends in social media performance, identifying what content resonates with audiences on X, Reddit, BlueSky, and Threads.
- Develop and execute data-informed strategies for audience acquisition on these platforms, focusing on techniques such as long-form threaded posts and nested threads.
- Create and publish multiple long-form, data-driven social media posts daily across X, Reddit, BlueSky, and Threads.
- Experiment with post structure, imagery, length, and call-to-action elements to determine the optimal formats for engagement and traffic generation.
- Review and interpret performance data to continually refine strategies, maximizing comments, shares, and inbound traffic.
- Collaborate with the Editorial team to alleviate day-to-day social posting workload, ensuring alignment with brand and content priorities.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in data analysis and social media trends.
- Familiarity with social platforms like X, Reddit, BlueSky, and Threads, and an understanding of their user behavior.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act on performance data.
- Creative writing skills, with a knack for crafting engaging, threaded narratives.
- Experience using tools like Google Analytics or social media analytics platforms is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience in digital media, marketing, or social media management is a bonus.
