- MS with 6+ years of relevant experience
- PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Audio-Video Examiner to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This role involves providing comprehensive analysis of video and audio evidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct digital image optimization, image/video authentication, metadata analysis, and geolocation identification.
- Enhance audio in video and audio recordings to improve speech quality and verify the integrity of video evidence.
- Utilize various audio and video editing software suites, particularly Adobe, and be familiar with common audio and video formats (AVI, MP4, MOV, MP3, WMA, WMV, WAV).
- Interpret file metadata, including XMP, and file structures to aid in authentication and synthetic media detection.
- Apply industry-standard software and filters for video and image authentication, including error level analysis, discrete cosine transform, and double JPEG compression.
- Perform geometric-based measurements of objects in image and video files.
- Use geometrical analysis of shadows and reflections to detect potential editing or synthetic media generation in questioned images or videos.
- Stay informed about the current state of synthetic media and generative AI, including threats and detection processes.
- Formulate and articulate expert opinions based on analysis and report findings.
- Experience in signal optimization, audio enhancement, authentication, and photogrammetry techniques.
- Ability to develop solutions to signals-based intelligence questions using languages such as Python and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with current digital forensics processes and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for quick issue resolution.
- Certifications such as LEVA Certified Video Technician or Certified Video Analyst, IAI Forensic Video Examiner, and DoD 8570 Compliant, IAT Level II.
