TIAG is now hiring an Audio / Visual (AV) Technician full time on our team in Bethesda, MD. This role is in support of the Uniform Services University and requires a Secret clearance in order to start work.
The candidate must be familiar with Federal, and DoD regulations governing the use of audio-visual and internet communications, and ensure that user(s) of electronic teaching and conferencing facilities follow these policies and procedures. The Technician will be responsible for the daily setup and shutdown of the teaching and conference space(s). When not supporting the setup of meeting(s) and teaching event(s) the technician will help install new equipment and basic troubleshooting of existing equipment. The person in this position must be capable of the following:
Position Responsibilities:
- Must have the ability to coordinate, setup, test, and manage MS Teams calls and Google Video Conference calls.
- Ability to install, program, and test AMX Touch Panels.
- Perform installation tasks for AV projects including, but not limited to, pulling cable,
- installing connectors, mounting projects, mounting displays, and installing and wiring rack-mounted equipment.
- Read and interpret electronic schematics (AV Drawings).
- Use power and hand tools, along with tester(s) to complete installation(s), basic troubleshooting, and repair(s).
- Ability to install most major AV systems/equipment (Polycom/AMX/Extron/Crestron/Biamp/RevoLabs).
- The ability to use a touch panel controller for the correct setup of classroom(s), lecture hall(s), and conference room(s).
- Support of AV systems and equipment to help staff, students, teachers, and guests at the University.
- Minimum 2 years of audiovisual installation, support or troubleshooting experience.
- The candidate should have an active Public Trust or Secret level security clearance. If the candidate does not have one of the clearances active but does have a clean background, TIAG can help get the required clearance.
- Education in electronics or related field & a minimum of a high school diploma
- Preferred Training and/or Certifications :
- lnfoComm-AVXIA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) Certification, if candidate does not currently have a CTS certification, they must obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- AMX, Extron, or Crestron Installation Certification, any one is sufficient.
- Experience with medium and large-scale HDbaseT systems.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of computers including Macintosh (Apple), and Windows (2007, 10).
- Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
- Knowledge of and ability to use lecture hall, auditorium, and classroom control systems to include providing computer presentation access and assistance.
- Knowledge of Web Conferencing technology (Google, Zoom, Adobe Connect).
- Ability to operate, reset, and make minor repairs on most commercial AV equipment.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of commercial audio visual systems.
- Ability to provide the highest level of customer service and support in all areas in support of the mission of the MDL and the University.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
