What You’ll Do
As a Service Field Engineer (SFE), you will:
- Consult with clients to maintain, diagnose, and repair their AV systems.
- Handle service calls and work orders, providing excellent customer service to diverse clientele.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and hand tools to troubleshoot and repair AV systems.
- Collaborate with Ford’s Customer Care Dispatch team to ensure timely resolution of client issues.
- Visit 2–3 client sites daily to provide on-site technical support and system repairs.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has:
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot AV or technology systems.
- Experience programming Crestron/AMX systems.
- Prior experience installing or repairing commercial AV systems (sound, video, lighting, projection).
- Familiarity with processing work orders and service tickets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical issues and solutions.
- An associate degree or higher in electronics or a related field (preferred).

Physical Requirements:
This position encompasses a combination of office and field responsibilities, necessitating both physical and mental capabilities to effectively fulfill the job requirements. The employee should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that may involve extended periods of sitting while operating office equipment, as well as occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Field duties may require climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, or environmental elements. The employee should possess adequate manual dexterity, eyesight, and proficiency in using standard office tools such as computers, printers, and telephones for tasks involving reading, writing, interpreting, and managing paperwork. Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing work settings are essential. This role may also involve occasional travel, including overnight stays, requiring flexibility in working hours and commitments. Safety protocols must be followed at all times to ensure a secure work environment.
