Overview:
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Video Editor / Camera Operator to join our team, working closely with the Lead Video Producer to create compelling content in the tactical and 2A (Second Amendment) space. This full-time role will involve editing both short-form and long form documentary projects, filming and editing talking head videos, as well as creating social media cutdowns. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, and have experience handling professional video equipment for both shooting and editing. A strong understanding of tactical, military, and law enforcement concepts is a plus, and comfortability being around firearms is a must. Additionally, prior experience working with hunting or outdoor-focused content is a desirable skill.

Key Responsibilities:
- Video Editing:
- Edit both short-form and long-form documentary projects for platforms such as YouTube and social media.
- Work with the Lead Video Producer to create and edit content for the company's YouTube channel, with a primary focus on high-quality tactical, 2A, and product-related content.
- Edit social media cutdowns from longer videos to create engaging clips that drive engagement across social media platforms.
- Ensure all video content meets brand standards and storytelling objectives.
- Camera Operation & Filming:
- Operate professional film/video equipment (cameras, lighting, sound) during shoots.
- Capture documentary-style content and verit footage in various tactical and controlled environments.
- Film talking head videos demonstrating MIRA Safety's line of personal protective equipment (PPE) products, including respirators.
- Work with the production team to ensure high-quality production values, framing, and lighting for all footage.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Lead Video Producer / Editor to execute creative concepts and provide video editing support.
- Assist in pre-production planning, video shoots, and post-production tasks as needed.
- Content Creation for Tactical / 2A Space:
- Edit and create content that resonates with audiences in the tactical, military, law enforcement, and gun culture communities.
- Familiarity with firearms, tactical gear, and PPE products is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Media Encoder.
- Advanced skills in video editing, color correction, audio editing, and motion graphics.
- Strong knowledge of documentary-style editing, verit techniques, and storytelling.
- Experience in camera operation and handling professional video equipment, including DSLR/mirrorless cameras, cinema cameras, lighting, and sound gear.
- Experience & Background:
- Previous experience in a similar role (shooter/editor), ideally with a background in broadcast journalism or tactical filmmaking.
- Knowledge of military, law enforcement, and tactical concepts, as well as familiarity with firearms and general gun culture.
- Comfortability being around firearms and understanding of safety protocols.
- Prior work experience with hunting or outdoors-focused content is a desirable skill that will be considered a plus.
