This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/jobs/13112292 The Communication Manager for the City of Coffeyville is responsible for maintaining effective communication with the public and enhancing the Citys public image through strategic community engagement. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive communications plan, promoting community events, and managing outreach efforts to keep residents, businesses, and visitors informed about City programs and services. Key duties include creating print and digital content, managing social media and websites, acting as the Citys primary media spokesperson, and serving as the Public Information Officer during emergencies. The position also oversees the communications budget, ensures adherence to brand standards, and may represent the City at public events and meetings. Additionally, this role supports the City Manager with public presentations, helps develop policy recommendations based on data-driven reports, and works closely with the City Manager and leadership teams to ensure clear, consistent communication with the public. This position works primarily Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but may be required to produce City announcements in the evenings, on weekends, holidays, special events, or work during emergencies. Occasional evening City Commission meeting attendance may be required. A Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is required. Alternatively, equivalent professional experience in a communications or public relations role may be considered in lieu of a degree. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of successful communication strategies, media relations, and community engagement, with a strong understanding of digital and traditional communication tools. Salary range of \$60,000-75,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from overtime.
