FedWriters, Inc. is hiring: Communication Specialist in Dahlgren

Overview:

FedWriters is building a team to support corporate communications, public affairs, visual information, and technical library support for ongoing initiatives supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). As a Communication Specialist, you will provide comprehensive communication support for public relations, media relations, and community engagement programs. This position will work onsite at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and interviews, write and edit articles, news releases, and statements for initiatives such as the Surface Navy Association Symposium and distinguished visitor visits
• Manage social media platforms and use analytics tools like Hootsuite to enhance NSWCDD's online presence
• Support employee communication, media relations, and community relations programs, contributing to NSWCDD's public affairs and engagement strategies
• Provide photography and multimedia support for a variety of communication needs, including exhibit planning and coordination

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Secret clearance
• Bachelors degree in communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, and 2 years of related experience, or 6 years of experience in the field of public relations, public affairs, legislative engagement, or journalism-related with experience in research, conducting interviews, writing, editing, and obtaining release/approval for articles, feature stories, news releases, and statements, including electronic, web-based, and hard copy material
• Experience in social media management and analytics tools

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors):
$ 80,000.00 - $ 100,000.00 /Yr.
